You Can Save Money By Buying Carpet on Auction

Are you an allergy sufferer or natural materials enthusiast, but don’t think you can afford the wool carpeting you’ve always dreamed of? Are you someone who’s seeking a good looking, hard wearing carpet at the best possible price? Are you a builder or in the trades, looking for high quality, low cost decorating materials for your clients? If you’re in greater Melbourne, then our carpet auctions may be able to get you the carpeting you want and need at a price you would never have thought possible.

Our auction carpets usually sell at a 50% to 90% discount. They’re end of the line products and overstocks. Don’t be intimidated by the word ‘auction.’ Auctions aren’t as complicated as you may think. Here’s how it works.

Before the Auction: Look At What’s Offered

We have 250 to 300 rolls of carpet available most weeks, and your job before the auction is to make a list of the lots you’re interested in. The first thing you’ll want to do is take a look at the carpet section in our latest auction catalogue and perhaps the preview video, too. You can find both on our Latest Auctions page.

If you want to see the carpets in person before bidding, then visit us on the Tuesday before the auction between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. If you can’t make it at that time, call in advance and we can make arrangements for you come in between 7:30 a.m.and 5:00 p.m. on any day of the week.

During the Auction: Register and Bid

The auction will be on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., and it will take a couple of hours. You’ll need to put down a $100 deposit, but it will be refunded if you don’t buy anything. If you can’t attend the auction, then give us your lot number and your highest bid. One of our employees will bid for you.

During the auction, each lot will be called out in sequence. You can hold up your registration card to raise your bid. The person who bids highest wins the carpet roll.

After the Auction: Pay and Arrange Delivery

If you missed out on the lot you wanted to bid on or if the bidding did not reach the minimum reserve price, then we can negotiate with you after the auction. If you’ve won a roll of carpet, then simply pay us and arrange for pickup or delivery. It’s that simple.

You’ll want to tell everyone about the new carpet you bought at auction. Maybe you’ll tell them about the carpet’s retail cost, and maybe you’ll tell them how much you saved. Either way, it’ll be a buy to brag about.
